Argument Over Pit Bull Leads to Stabbing

A fight over a pit bull ended up having a man being being treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Springfield police say a man with a pit bull walked into the Fast-N-Friendly store on West Chestnut Expressway around midnight on Sunday. The owner of the dog engaged in an argument with a man in the store.

The argument moved outside, when the dog’s owner pulled a knife and stabbed the other man two or three times.

The dog owner put his dog in a vehicle and fled the scene in a blue minivan.

SPD officials said they do not have a description of the assailant. They ask anyone with information to contact them at 864-1810.
