Blue & Gold Tournament Brackets Announced

One of Springfield’s beloved holiday traditions is going to continue with a completely new format because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Greenwood Blue & Gold tournament will be taking place during the last week of the year with championships on New Year’s Eve day. The first round games will be played in three different locations, with the brackets being named after the tournament locations.

Single session tickets will be available for sale but you can only attend once building per ticket. There will be no all-tournament passes sold this year due to reduced capacities at all locations.

Here is the tournament seedings and locations:

BLUE DIVISION

JQH Arena Bracket, First round on Dec. 26:

10 a.m. No. 8 Ava vs. Buffalo
Noon No. 1 Hartville vs. Houston
2 p.m. No. 5 Catholic vs. Clever
4 p.m. No. 4 Skyline vs. Branson


Hammons Student Center Bracket, First round on Dec. 26:

10 a.m. No. 7 Mount Vernon vs. Camdenton
Noon No. 2 Nixa vs. Stockton
2 p.m. No. 6 Willard vs. Mountain Grove
4 p.m. No. 3 Parkview vs. Glendale

GOLD DIVISION

JQH Arena Bracket, First round on Dec. 28:

10 a.m. No. 8 Spokane vs. West Plains
Noon No. 1 Greenwood vs. Reeds Spring
2 p.m. No. 5 Strafford vs. Ash Grove
4 p.m. No. 4 Ozark vs. Marshfield

10 a.m. No. 7 Crane vs. Willow Springs

Winner’s bracket games will continue at JQH Arena on Dec. 29, 30, and 31. Loser’s bracket games will take place in the two gyms at Greenwood School.
