Deposition Date Set in Custody Case Involving Former Governor Eric Greitens

Just under a month left until the August 2 primary elections, former Governor Eric Greitens will be due in court next week in an ongoing custody battle.

A deposition has been scheduled for July 13 in the custody case between Greitens and his ex-wife, Sheena Greitens.

The case has drawn national attention due to Greitens controversial past which includes his resignation from the Governor’s seat after accusations of an affair and sexual assault by his former hairdresser.

More recently, Greitens has drawn backlash after his ex-wife published a sworn affidavit that the former governor physically abused her and one of their sons.

On the political front, Greitens has received calls to withdraw from the race after releasing a controversial ad that encouraged voters to go “RINO” (Republican in Name Only) hunting, which some categorized as a call for violence against establishment Republicans.

Greitens is in the midst of a campaign to replace retiring Senator Roy Blunt, vying for the Republican nomination against candidates such as Eric Schmitt and Vicky Hartzler.

With the deposition scheduled for July 13, a tentative date for the case to begin has been set for July 15.
