Elevated Fire Danger in the Ozarks Monday

Warm, dry and windy conditions are leading to an elevated fire danger across southwest Missouri on Monday.

The National Weather Service says weather and land conditions are favorable for erratic fire spread if a fire does start, and outside burning is discouraged except by experienced fire personnel.

Folks are also asked to avoid activities that cause open flames or sparks.

Cigarettes should be properly discarded, and avoid parking on dry grass.
