Greene County Collector Leah Betts and Assessor Rick Kessinger say their offices will temporarily close to walk-in traffic for three days next week.
The county says it’s an effort to best utilize the time and resources needed to address ongoing technical issues impacting this year’s tax assessments and tax statements.
To manage the current influx of inquiries and to allow time to work through software programming matters, both the collector’s office and the personal property department of the assessor’s office will not be accessible to in-person business Monday, January 4th through Wednesday, January 6th.
You’ll still be able to make real estate and personal property tax payments via regular mail or online at www.countycollector.com.
If you need a bill created or a correction on a bill, you should contact the assessor’s office via the contact information on their website because that is the office that maintains all the data, and then passes it on to the collector.
