After a long stretch of rain, we’re seeing a different kind of risky weather in the Ozarks with soaring temperatures leading to a heat advisory being issued for the area.
What We Know: A heat advisory is in effect from noon Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday. Temperatures for Tuesday to Thursday will be in the upper 80s and low 90s. Heat index values will be even higher due to the sunshine and high humidity from the recent storms.
A cold front coming late Thursday should break the heat and bring in opportunities for more storms and rain.
What It Means: With high temperatures comes increased risk for heat-related illness. It is best to take precautions when working outside and drink plenty of water.
