James River Freeway/Highway 65 Flyover Ramp in Springfield to Close Over Three Consecutive Weekends

A bridge sealing project will force the closure of the eastbound James River Freeway to northbound Highway 65 flyover ramp in Springfield for three weekends this month.

No shutdowns will occur over the July 4th holiday weekend, but the Missouri Department of Transportation says the closings will take place from 8 p.m. on Friday, July 9th until 6 a.m. Monday, July 12th, and the same times from Friday, July 16th through Monday, July 19th and from Friday, July 23rd through Monday, July 26th.

Contractor crews will be cleaning and sealing bridge deck and driving surfaces. The work is a preventative measure aimed at extending the life of the bridge.

MoDOT says the detour will be eastbound James River Freeway to southbound Highway 65 to the Evans Road interchange to northbound Highway 65.
