Louzader’s Lowdown

Welcome to Louzader’s Lowdown!

As news director of KWTO, I want to not only make sure you get the top local news stories around the Ozarks each day, both on air at 93-3, AM 560 KWTO and online at 933kwto.com, but take you behind the news and newsmakers, the sports and sports figures for a closer look.

Look for that content on this blog in the coming days and weeks, but first a little about me!

While I’m new to the legendary KWTO (just started December 7th), I’ve spent the last 25 years in Springfield covering news, sports, weather and traffic information.

I’ve been behind the microphone for some of the biggest local and national news events over the last quarter century, from the September 11th terror attacks to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on our local community.

I’m proud to say I was born and raised in the Ozarks, and I’m a 1987 graduate of Marshfield High School.

I earned my Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May, 1991, and started my first radio job a month later.  I worked at KREI-KTJJ Radio in Farmington, Missouri for four years before moving back home in 1995 to work at KTTS.

And I like mornings! I’ve been doing morning news in Springfield since 1996, and you can hear my news and sports each weekday morning on Wake Up Springfield with Tim Jones.

I anchor news at the top and bottom of each hour from 5:30-8:30 a.m., and you can hear my traffic reports at :15 and :45 each hour during the show.

I’m an avid baseball fan and have covered both the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals in the World Series, as well as numerous playoff games and two Major League Baseball All Star Games.

I’ve also covered the Missouri State Bears and Lady Bears for many years.

My wife Chris and I have been married for 22 years and make our home in Battlefield. On Wednesday, we filled in for Nate Lucas on Springfield’s Happy Hour after having never been on the radio together.

Take a listen here!

I look forward to chatting with you more for an inside look at news and sports in southwest Missouri.

Have a great weekend!
