Man Arrested in Connection to Two Springfield Shootings

Police have arrested a suspect they believe is responsible for two shootings that occurred in Springfield in 2021.

Darius Adams was arrested Monday and faces charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

The first shooting occurred in April of 2021 when authorities found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders were able to respond quickly and the victim survived.

The second shooting took place in December of 2021. Officers responded to a report of shots fired on South Fremont in Springfield, where they found 41-year-old Trevor Hale dead of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Adams is connected to both shootings. He is being held in jail without bond.
