Man from Pulaski County Charged After Independence Day Attack

Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office say they have arrested and charged a man after he assaulted a woman on the Fourth of July.

Authorities have reported that Jeremiah Schiedel has been charged with assault and resisting arrest after reports say he assaulted a woman by dumping gasoline on her.

Deputies were called to a home on Laddie Lane in Cullen Township, just north of Fort Leonard Wood after reports of a structure fire.

When they arrived, they discovered a woman covered in gasoline that had managed to escape the home. Authorities attempted to enter the home, but Schiedel had barricaded himself inside.

After six hours of negotiations, Schiedel exited the home with his hands hidden from officers. He refused to comply with deputies and was apprehended after authorities discharged a taser to incapacitate him.
