Marijuana Grow Operation Busted in Missouri State Silo

Springfield Police responded to a call about a possible break in at silos owned by Missouri State University and discovered a marijuana growing operation.

Officers were dispatched to the silos in the 300 block of East Phelps in Springfield. A search of the property found Anthony Conrad hiding inside a room. Officers could smell something burning, and told Conrad to exit the room.

Officers then found the marijuana grow operation on fire, indicating that Conrad had tried to burn the evidence upon hearing police in the area. The fire burned itself out.

Conrad was booked into the Greene County Jail on possession of a controlled substance.
