Edited press release
Continuing its efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in the Springfield area, Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care is now offering rapid COVID-19 testing at all of its locations. Unlike COVID-19 diagnostic tests that must be sent to a reference lab for processing, rapid COVID-19 testing determines if a patient is positive for COVID-19 in approximately 15 minutes.
Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care understands how critical it is to have timely results when patients are concerned about COVID-19 infection and potential exposure. Rapid results are a game-changer because they enable affected individuals to quickly quarantine and inform others who may have been exposed.
“At Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care, we are committed to providing accessible testing services to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Springfield community and quickly give people peace of mind so they can take action,” said Sherry Buebendorf, market president for Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care. “The fast results produced by the Abbott ID NOW molecular test will allow patients testing negative the peace of mind to return to work, attend school and engage in other important essential activities.”
Mercy-GoHealth’s Virtual Visit platform is available right now for patients electing to receive the Rapid COVID-19 Test. After a Virtual Visit with one of our clinical providers, patients will be given same-day or next-day swabbing appointments at one of the local Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care centers. Within minutes, they will know if they tested positive for COVID-19, along with directions for next steps in their care.
Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. We are in-network with most major insurance plans, but please note that rapid testing may not be covered. For patients without health insurance, we offer affordable self-pay rates.
