A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper has injuries to his lower body after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in a parking lot just off I-44 in Lebanon.
Authorities say the trooper made a traffic stop in front of the Waffle House at the 127 exit around 7:45 a.m. when the driver struck him with a vehicle as the trooper was outside his patrol car.
The Highway Patrol believes the driver hit the trooper intentionally, then took off. That driver was arrested down the road near another business a short time later.
The trooper was rushed to a hospital in Springfield with non-life threatening injuries.
