More information is being released about a bomb threat on Wednesday that lead to High Pointe Elementary School in Nixa being fully evacuated.

The threat was made via a single chat message on a suicide hotline, that threat was then reported to Christian County 911 at 12:20pm.

Officers then responded quickly to the scene, secured the outside area, and allowed students and staff to evacuate.

Authorities believed to have a potential suspect after tracking the threats source to an IP address in Kansas City, but after interviewing the man who owns that IP, it was determined he had no connection to the Nixa area, and he himself was a victim of “IP Spoofing”.

Several teams including law enforcement and counter-terrorism units me this morning to continue to investigate.

In a statement, the city of Nixa thanked first responders and school officials for their swift response, and excellent work.
