Pedestrian Killed in December 5 Accident Identified by Police

Springfield police have identified the woman killed when she walked into the path of a box truck.

Investigators say the victim is 39-year-old Marcie L. Brown of Springfield.

Brown walked into the southbound Sunshine lanes near the intersection with Oxford street on December 5 when she was struck and killed. Police say that intoxication was not a factor, and the driver likely did not see Brown before she was struck.

Brown died at the scene.

SPD continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone who may have information to call investigators at 864-1810.

Brown is the 26th crash related death in Springfield in 2020.
