Police Chief and his Officers in Kimberling City Resign

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office will begin handling calls normally directed to the Kimberling City Police Department.

The police chief, three officers, and a sergeant have all turned in their resignations, leaving the department with no workers.

Chief Craig Alexander says he’s accepting another job with the Branson West Police Department.

The reasons for the resignations range from current pay to not having qualified officers, to not having a police clerk to help with administrative side of the department.

The mayor calls the resignations unexpected and says the short notice is disappointing.
