Pilot of Small Plane Transported to Hospital After Aircraft Goes Down at Bolivar Airport

A pilot has injuries after an ultralight plane crashed Monday morning at the Bolivar airport.

Investigators say the pilot lost control of the single seat aircraft after performing ground maneuvers.

The plane crashed into a grassy field.

The pilot complained of back pain, but was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield because of his age, which is late 70’s to early 80’s.

The man was able to get out of the plane on his own.
