Springfield Park Central Square Library Closed Due to COVID-19 Exposure

The downtown square location of the Springfield-Greene County public library will be closed for at least a week because of an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

Library officials say the Park Central Square library location will close through at least Friday, January 22, 2021, after the employee’s test was discovered today at 10:30 a.m. The library was immediately closed after the notification of the test.

The library will be extending the due dates for any materials borrowed from that branch through January 22. Materials can also be returned to book drops throughout the Springfield-Greene County library system.

All staff members at the library wore masks throughout their shifts, but will all quarantine at home. All library visitors over age 3 were required to wear masks, so the library anticipates minimal public exposure.
