What We Know: A popular Springfield restaurant is temporarily closed after part of its roof collapsed Monday morning.

The collapse happened at Seafood House on South Campbell Avenue while storms were moving through the area. At this point, it’s unclear whether the weather played a role in the incident.

What It Means: Officials have placed “Do Not Occupy” notices on the front of the building while the situation is evaluated and next steps are determined.

The unexpected closure came as many Springfield residents were keeping an eye on the weather and dealing with heavy rain moving through the Ozarks.

What’s Next: For now, the cause of the collapse remains under investigation.

It’s also unknown how long the business will remain closed.
