Springfield State Representative Curtis Trent Announces Missouri Senate Bid

Local attorney Curtis Trent says he’d like to be Missouri’s next state senator from the 20th District covering Christian and part of Greene County.

Trent made the announcement on Monday’s Wake up Springfield morning show on 93-3 FM and A-M 560 KWTO.

The 20th district is currently represented by Senator Eric Burlison, who is running for Congress following southwest Missouri Congressman Billy Long’s announcement he’s seeking the U-S Senate seat being vacated next year by Roy Blunt.

Trent currently serves as a state representative in the 133rd district, covering southwest Springfield and the city of Battlefield.

Trent says we have a great life in southwest Missouri, but it’s under attack by outside cultural and political forces. “I have fought to make sure our state is protecting us from coastal elites who are using the federal government to force their values on us,” Trent said. I will always work to makes sure that the people’s government in Jefferson City puts Missouri first.

Trent is the first candidate to declare for the 20th Senate District and starts with a fundraising advantage of more than $150,000 cash on hand.
