A teenage boy is dead after a shooting on Springfield’s north side Friday afternoon.
Springfield police confirm that a teenage boy is dead after being shot by a teenage girl at a home in the 2300 block of North Pierce Avenue. The boy was transported to a local hospital where he died of his wound.
Springfield police are investigating the incident and the teen girl involved has not been taken into custody as of 5 p.m. Friday.
A source tells KWTO that it’s possible the shooting was accidental.
