A trio are facing charges after a weekend shooting incident in Springfield.
A Springfield police officer was on an unrelated call in the 2000 block of north Glenstone Sunday around 6 a.m. when he heard multiple gunshots fired west of his location.
The officer responded to the area near Delaware and Kearney and discovered a white 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. At the same time, dispatch informed officers to be on the look out for a vehicle that matched that description.
Officers pulled over the vehicle and found bullet holes in the car, which was connected to an incident the previous night at Walnut and Patton. A search of the vehicle turned up two guns; one of the guns had been reported stolen.
Officers then searched the nearby area and found bullet holes in homes on East Kerr and East Nora. No injuries were reported in either home.
The three inside the car were arrested: Nicholas Caligone was arrested for a weapons violation, Cartrevion Chapman was arrested for 1st Degree Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Darris Mull was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm.
