Troubling Stats on Crime in Greene County during 2020

Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott is reporting an increase in crime numbers in several categories for 2020.

All categories saw significant increases for the year, including assault, which were up 8%.

Robberies climbed 66%, and crimes involving weapons went up by an incredible 136%.

Arnott blames a corrections system that’s too lenient, placing violent offenders on probation and parole, and releasing them.
