The Missouri Department of Conservation says fewer turkeys were harvested during the recent fall firearms season than last year.
about 1,800 turkeys were harvested this fall, down from 2,200 last year. They say warm and dry weather during October affected the turkey’s behavior and made it more difficult for hunters to find them.
The archery season for turkeys continues through November 15th.
