A rash of traffic crashes in Springfield over the weekend have left two people dead and two people injured.
Springfield Police say two people rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped for a red light at the intersection of National and Montclair Saturday afternoon.
They were taken to a local hospital where they died from their injuries.
National from Battlefield to Walnut Lawn had to be closed for a several hours.
Later that evening, Springfield Police were called to an accident at Chestnut Expressway and Grant involving a pedestrian and a motorcyclist.
No word on the cause of that crash.
A man is hospitalized after he ran off the road and landed in a culvert at the intersection of Kansas Expressway and Grand.
No names have been released in any of the crashes at this time.
