Days after a threat was made towards High Pointe Elementary in Nixa, investigators are determining where exactly the message originated.
According to the latest report from the Missouri Information Analysis Center, the message was set up with a VPN to make it appear that the threat was sent from the Kansas City area. In actuality, the IP addresses were traced back to a foreign country.
When the threat was discovered, High Pointe Elementary was evacuated for the safety of students and staff.
Authorities say that country does not recognize the United States legal process.
The case has now been turned over to the FBI, who will continue the investigation as similar threats have been made towards other schools across Missouri, and the U.S., creating a national investigation.
