Victim of Fatal One Car Accident Identified

Springfield police identified the victim of a one-car fatal accident on Tuesday.

Police say that 87-year-old Bonnie J. Davis of Springfield died as a result of injuries from the accident.

Investigators say the Ford Focus driven by Davis was heading south on Marlan Avenue when the car left the right side of the road just before noon, struck a stop sign, and then crossed Blaine Street before crossing the backyard of a home at 2311 East Pacific and striking the back of the house.

The investigation into the incident is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Springfield PD at 417-864-1810.

The accident was the 25th fatal crash within the city in 2020 and Davis was the city’s 27th traffic accident related death.
