Springfield Fire Department Investigates Flames at Former Affordable Towing Location Involving More Than 20 Vehicles

UPDATE: It took Springfield firefighters nearly 45 minutes to contain the fire, which involved more than 20 vehicles on the former Affordable Towing lot.

The location has been the scene of several fire calls in recent months.

No one was injured in the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Original Story: Thick black smoke can be seen from several locations around Springfield Wednesday afternoon.

KOLR-10 is reporting Springfield Police have confirmed multiple vehicles have caught fire at the former location of Affordable Towing on Florida just west of Glenstone.

The smoke can be seen below from the traffic camera at Glenstone and Division.

The public is asked to avoid the area until crews can get the fire under control and emergency responders can do their work.

The fire is under investigation, and fire crews say there are no reports of injuries.

Multiple fire calls have been reported at the location in the last few months.
