What We Know: Missourians are being encouraged to lace up their shoes and get moving this summer through the free 100 Miles, 100 Days challenge.

Hosted by the University of Missouri Extension, the program challenges participants to log 100 miles of physical activity between June 16 and Sept. 24.

What It Means: The miles can add up in all kinds of ways.

Walking, biking, swimming, dancing, and even strength training count toward the goal.

What’s Next: The challenge is designed for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned athlete or simply trying to become more active. Participants also receive weekly reminders and encouragement to help keep them motivated.

What began as a small program in 2021 has grown into a statewide effort involving more than 4,000 participants.

Registration is free.

Those interested can sign up online and contact their local MU Extension office to learn about activities planned in their communities.
