What We Know: A nearly 30-year-old Christian County cold case has led to an arrest.

What It Means: A grand jury has indicted James Deckard on a first-degree murder charge in the 1997 shooting death of 62-year-old Jack Housh.

Investigators say Housh was found shot to death outside his home in Bruner on November 18, 1997.

Court records accuse Deckard of shooting Housh with a shotgun after becoming angry when Housh refused to sell him a Camaro.

What’s Next: Christian County Sheriff Brad Cole says investigators continued working the case over the years and hopes the arrest provides some measure of closure for Housh’s family.

Deckard has been booked into the Christian County Jail.
