What We Know: A domestic assault charge against former Republic School Board President Terry McConnell has been dropped.

What It Means: The Greene County Circuit Clerk confirmed the fourth-degree domestic assault charge has been dismissed.

McConnell was charged following an incident at a Republic home in June.

Court documents alleged McConnell shoved and struck a woman during a struggle over a handgun. McConnell told investigators he had taken the gun from a nightstand during an argument.

McConnell was serving as Republic School Board president when the charge was filed.
