A statewide crackdown on illegal gaming machines reached southwest Missouri this week, including a stop in Buffalo.

The Attorney General’s Office announced that its office worked alongside the Missouri State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies during a coordinated sting operation targeting illegal gaming businesses across the state.

Investigators seized 35 gaming devices and more than $58,000 in suspected illegal gambling proceeds during the operation.

One of the locations involved was the Buffalo Eagle Stop in Buffalo.

Authorities say investigators seized eight gaming machines and more than $15,000 in cash there.

The AG Office says illegal gaming operations have spread across Missouri in recent years and described the latest operation as part of a larger effort to shut them down.

The investigation involved the Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, along with help from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
