Former Southwest Missouri Congressman Billy Long is being replaced as I-R-S commissioner just two months after being confirmed for the job.
Long has confirmed he has been named by the President as Ambassador to Iceland.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will serve as acting I-R-S commissioner until a replacement for Long is named.
Long said, “It is an honor to serve my friend, President Trump, and I am excited to take on my new role as the ambassador to Iceland.”
