What We Know: CASA of Southwest Missouri is receiving support to expand services for children and families in Taney County.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, a program that supports children in foster care.
The organization recently received a Community Impact Award from the Skaggs Foundation.
What It Means: The grant will help bring services similar to CASA’s Springfield clubhouse to Taney County.
The clubhouse provides a safe place for supervised family visits, tutoring, life skills classes, and other support.
CASA Programs Director Sarah Walraven says the goal is to bring those services closer to home for more families.
The organization is also seeking volunteers to support children in foster care.
