What We Know: Drivers in Missouri are being reminded to keep an eye out for deer, especially during the morning and evening hours.

What it Means: MoDOT says October and November are two of the busiest months for deer movement, with most deer crashes happening around sunrise and after sunset.

More than 2,800 deer-related crashes were reported in Missouri last year. Six people were killed, and 435 were hurt.

What’s Next: Drivers are urged to slow down, stay off their phones, and remember that deer often travel together.

And if a deer runs into the road, MoDOT says don’t swerve. Brake and stay in your lane to avoid losing control.
