Dixon Man Pleads Guilty to Murder Charge

Brandon Veasman, 42, pleaded guilty in Pulaski County court to charges of second-degree murder.

Veasman was accused of killing Mark Etherton in September of 2021. Etherton was found by authorities just outside of his home in Dixon. Autopsies revealed multiple stab wounds.

Another suspect, Cherie Kelley, is facing charges of tampering with physical evidence in the case.

Documents about the case, as well as admissions from both Veasman and Kelley, show both suspects attempted to hide evidence, including their shoes and clothing.

While Veasman has pleaded guilty to his charge, Kelley has been uncooperative and refuses to talk to authorities.
