Missouri is taking another step toward launching more than $151 million in home energy rebate programs.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Improvement and Energy Resources Authority have selected BDO Government Services to help set up and administer the programs.
The money would provide rebates to Missouri homeowners for energy-saving improvements.
One program will focus on whole-home energy efficiency upgrades. Another will help low-to-moderate income households pay for qualifying electric upgrades, including heat pumps.
DNR Director Kurt Schaefer says the goal is to make the rebates available as quickly and responsibly as possible while helping keep energy costs affordable.
But the rebates aren’t available just yet.
Missouri submitted its funding application to the U.S. Department of Energy in November 2024 and is still waiting for federal approval and funding.
State officials say they’ll release more information, including when Missourians can apply, as the programs get closer to launching.
More information and future updates are available through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
