Dog Groomers in Court for Abuse Charges

Two Mountain Grove dog groomers were in court in Wright County on Wednesday morning for misdemeanor charges of abuse.

Michelle and Renee Butts are accused of being responsible for the death of Scooby, a service dog for a man in a wheelchair.

In June, Scooby was being groomed at Fur-Tastic Grooming in Mountain Grove, and during a washing session Scooby passed away from choking.

Michelle and Renee Butts have requested more time to choose whether to plead guilty, or to set a trial date, which was granted.
