What We Know: The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office distributed nearly 200 coats to students in the county.
What It Means: Ava R-1 Schools, Skyline, Plainview School and Ava Headstart students received the coats. Sheriff Chris Degasse said in a Facebook post that donors, sponsors and a golf tournament held at Ava Country Club contributed the coats. The Walmart in Ava helped to fill the coat orders.
