Environment Protection Agency Fines Business in Nixa $18,000 for Selling Illegal Defeat Devices

The Environmental Protection Agency has fined a business in Nixa $18,000 for selling illegal defeat devices.

Defeat devices prevent emissions control systems from working in cars and violate the Federal Clean Air Act.

Baillie Diesel Incorporated agreed to pay the fine.

The company also agreed to destroy its inventory of defeat devices and certify that it has stopped selling the devices.
