What We Know: Still got that Halloween pumpkin on your porch? Don’t toss it into the woods just yet.

What It Means: The Farmers’ Almanac says decorated pumpkins can harm wildlife and attract animals near busy roads.

Instead, remove the decorations and compost the pumpkin or take it to a yard waste recycling center.

And Springfield’s Dickerson Park Zoo says it’s not accepting pumpkin donations from the public.
