The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Springfield metro area and other counties generally along and south of I-44 through Friday morning at 10.
Widespread rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are expected, with localized amounts up to 4 inches.
Persistent and repeated rainfall is expected to result in flooding.
