Glendale Quarterback, Kickapoo Transfer Kylan Mabins Granted Preliminary Injunction, Eligibility Reinstated

Glendale senior quarterback and Kickapoo transfer will now be able to play football again after a judge granted him a preliminary injunction in his court case.

The signal caller transferred from Kickapoo to Glendale in the spring of 2023, citing racial discrimination and the use of homophobic slurs.

Springfield Public Schools and MSHSAA, the state’s governing body on high school athletics, deemed him ineligible citing “undue influence” due to a relationship he had with the Mauk family, who previously coached the Falcons.

While Mabins has yet to play in a game this season, he has been practicing and is expected to play tonight as Glendale takes on Bolivar at Southwest Baptist University.

To listen to the game, tune in to our ESPN the Jock beginning at 6:50pm for the pregame.
