Greene County jury finds Willard man guilty for August 2024 shooting

A man from Willard has been found guilty of assault and related charges in connection to a shooting in August 2024.

What We Know: William Joseph Crouch, age 37, has been found guilty by a jury in Greene County in a shooting case from August of 2024.

Crouch was found guilty of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and assault.

On August 20, 2024, Greene County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a home in Republic. There, officers found a female juvenile that had been struck by a projectile. Her injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Surveillance footage showed a person on a motorcycle shooting at the home at 8:36 p.m. Due to unrelated charges, Crouch was court-ordered to wear a GPS monitor which should he was at the victim’s house at 8:36 p.m.

Spent shell casings and rounds of 9mm bullets were found to be connected to Crouch in the investigation.

What It Means: Crouch is currently in Greene County jail. His sentencing has been set for September 25th.
