Guilty Plea in Attempted ATM Robberies

A Springfield man has pleaded guilty to trying to steal A-T-Ms and has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.

Roy Schrickel and his accomplices tried to steal A-T-Ms from 5 different banks and credit unions in Springfield in 2023.

Authorities say the attempted thefts caused more than 30-thousand dollars in damage.  

Schrickel told police he got the idea of trying to steal A-T-Ms from YouTube videos.
