Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott has moved one step closer to becoming the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Missouri.
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12 to 10 on Monday to approve Arnott’s nomination.
Arnott has to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before he can leave the Sheriff’s Office and begin a four-year term as a U.S. Marshal.
