Kansas City Chiefs Heading to Springfield for Upcoming Event

The Kansas City Chiefs organization is coordinating with several schools in the Ozarks for an upcoming football-based event in Springfield.

Officials say eight different high schools from southwest Missouri will compete in an “11-on” event June 27 from 12pm-8pm at Allison Sports Town on Airport Boulevard in Springfield.

The list of schools incudes:

  • Carthage High School
  • Glendale High School
  • Kickapoo High School
  • Nixa High School
  • Central High School
  • Jefferson City High School
  • Neosho High School
  • Willard High School

The event will also include 7-on-7 and individual skill drills for athletes, as well as a Springfield Blitz session from 4:30-8 p.m. for younger kids, both boys and girls.

The event is an effort from the Chiefs to discuss creating high school girls’ flag football programs at high schools in the Ozarks.
