Local Egg Producer, Opal Foods, Donates over 275,000 Eggs to Ozarks Food Harvest

With Easter approaching, one local egg producer in southwest Missouri is providing the holiday with a staple of the celebration for those in need.

Spokespeople for Opal Foods, headquartered out of the Neosho area, announced they were donating over 23,000 cartons of a dozen eggs to Ozarks Food Harvest.

This is the 16th consecutive year that the business has partnered with the food bank to provide fun and food for the area’s underserved communities.

Bart Brown, President & CEO of Ozarks Food Harvest, said, “This donation of eggs arrives at a crucial time as many families continue to grapple with rising food costs, particularly for protein items. We’re so grateful for Opal Foods and their ongoing generosity during the Easter season.”

Opal Foods was assisted by Certified Express, Inc. in transporting the over 275,000 eggs to The Food Bank at no cost to either organization.

The eggs will now be donated across the 28-county region that Ozarks Food Harvest provides assistance for.
