What We Know: Springfield police and Greene County deputies are teaming up to help children during some pretty scary situations.
What It Means: The two departments are partnering with Walmart and the national Kits4Kids program to put together 300 trauma relief kits.
The kits include toys, sensory items and handwritten notes of encouragement to help comfort children during emergencies like car crashes and domestic disturbances.
What’s Next: The goal is to give first responders something to help calm frightened children when they need it most.
