What We Know: One of Christian County’s largest planned residential developments is getting ready to break ground.
What It Means: The Ozark Chamber of Commerce and Show Me Christian County will hold a groundbreaking for the new Marabella community Thursday morning at 10:30 on Farmer Branch Road in Ozark.
The development will be built in 18 phases and eventually include more than 500 single-family lots. Plans also call for NextDevelopers say about 48 acres will remain as permanent green space. The community will also include more than four miles of trails, with a connection to the Chadwick Flyer Trail system.
Other plans include a resort-style pool, clubhouse, playgrounds and courts for pickleball, basketball and sand volleyball.
Marabella Development Director Mark Trigg says the goal is to build a community where people can live through different stages of their lives.
The Ozark Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the development last November.
The groundbreaking is set for Thursday, August 20, at 6201 Farmer Branch Road in Ozark.
